Symptoms of ADD: Do You Have It?

Insufficient Attention or an inability to maintain focus is one of the key symptoms of ADD – Attention Deficit Disorder. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or ADHD, is a chronic dysfunction that triggers inattentiveness, impulsivity and/or hyperactivity. Both ADD and ADHD are conditions in which the individual finds it extremely difficult to target their own awareness or maintain control of their conduct.

Attention deficit disorder (ADD) is a common condition in kids, with symptoms of inattention, impulsive behavior, and sometimes hyperactivity, but the condition is increasingly being diagnosed in adults. Those diagnosed with ADD or Adult ADHD typically face a number of obstacles as they attempt to cope with time management techniques and self-control. ADD/ADHD, definitely, can get in the way of learning.

Researchers have found that ADD and ADHD result from a biochemical reaction related to the appearance  of certain chemical combinations in the body.

ADD and ADHD are hereditary and increase the pace at which details are processed in the brain. While that might sound like a good thing, the problem is manifested when the details or external stimuli are provided too slowly to keep the mind engaged — this results in boredom, which also is a primary symptom of ADD.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder can be treated successfully in children when the parents and teachers work together in monitoring the child and his or her actions. Treatment in both children and adults can involve medications, though many natural therapies have been helpful in some cases.
